Cancun Wreck & Reef Diving – 2-Tank Adventure for Certified Divers
Special Price: $135 USD | Includes Equipment & 2 Amazing Dive Sites
Explore two of Cancun’s most thrilling dive sites in one unforgettable experience.
The Cancun Wreck & Reef Dive is the perfect choice for certified divers who want to experience the best of both worlds — the mystery and adventure of a deep shipwreck, followed by the breathtaking beauty of Cancun’s colorful coral reefs.
Your adventure begins with a dive at the famous C-55 or C-58 shipwreck, resting at about 85 feet (26 meters) deep. These wrecks are teeming with marine life — schools of barracuda, groupers, rays, and sometimes even turtles passing by. The atmosphere is both serene and exhilarating as you explore the structure, now transformed into a vibrant artificial reef.
Afterward, your second dive takes you to a shallow reef within the National Marine Park, where crystal-clear waters and bright coral gardens provide a stunning contrast to the depths of the wreck.
This two-tank experience is ideal for advanced or comfortable certified divers, offering a balanced mix of adventure and relaxation under the guidance of our experienced instructors.
For divers seeking an even more Nitrox tanks are available upon request.
If you prefer a more personalized experience, you can also book a private instructor or private dive guide, ensuring the entire dive day is tailored to your pace and comfort level.

The wrecks of Cancun are part of WWII naval history and are now thriving artificial reefs.
- C-58 (ARM General Pedro María Anaya): Former US Navy minesweeper, now split in two on the sea floor
- C-55 (ARM Teniente Juan de la Barrera): Another WWII minesweeper sunk in 2000 to promote marine life
These wrecks are home to schools of barracuda, groupers, eels, rays, and in winter, majestic eagle rays that seek refuge around the structure.
- Colorful coral formations
- Strong current
- Huge schools of snapper and grunts
- Occasional nurse sharks and rays
- Occasional hammerhead or Black tip sharks
- Calm, clear conditions inside the protected Cancun Marine Park
These dive sites are part of a Federal Protected Area, where fishing is restricted and marine biodiversity flourishes.
Both wrecks were part of the U.S. Navy’s Admirable-class minesweepers, among the most successful classes used during WWII. They were later transferred to the Mexican Navy and eventually repurposed as artificial reefs for marine conservation and scuba diving tourism.
- C-58: Originally the USS Harlequin (AM 365)
- C-55: Formerly the USS Scuffles (AM 283)
Today, these wrecks offer divers a chance to explore history beneath the waves while supporting ocean regeneration.

Cancun wreck and reef dives

Diving with DeepLife was an absolute joy. We booked after arriving on holiday in Cancun and Eduardo was very helpful and responsive on booking emails and arranging transport. Added bonus was getting photos from Berto to remember our trip. I would completely recommend DeepDive and will definitely use them should we visit Mexico again.

I did 3 dives in one day including one deep dive (The Pit) and two shallow dives at Dos Ojos (The Bat Cave and The Barbie Line). They were all wonderful and unlike anything I have ever seen scuba diving before. The cenotes were beautiful and I hope to come back one day with my son. I would definitely use Deep Life Divers again.
